The Minister of Transport, HE Jassem bin Saif al Sulaiti, has recently announced Qatar's plans to increase its fleet of buses by adding at least 2000 public transport buses on the roads by 2020, thus improving the quality of transport for visitors and residents.

The authorities have set an ambitious five-year plan to put in place a vastly developed public transport infrastructure, which was presented during a recent Public Transport Conference held at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha.
As a large number of visitors are expected for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar is currently building 2500 kilometers of Expressways in order to meet their travel requirements. Furthermore, the government has also announced that the expansion of the road network will include 160 bridges and several interchanges across the country.
