Home News Bus services at the heart of Dublin’s public transportation revamp
Dublin region is looking at radically transforming its public transport system and sees bus services as key in addressing congestion.
BusConnects is a suite of ambitious proposals that aim to fundamentally upgrade Dublin’s bus system so that journeys by bus will be fast, reliable, affordable and punctual.
Anne Graham, Chief Executive Officer of the National Transport Authority, said, “We believe that there is potential to increase bus passenger numbers by at least 50% over the lifetime of the project, which would represent a significant step-change in how people get from place to place.
This can only happen if measures are put in place to make bus travel more convenient, more reliable and more appealing and we believe that BusConnects will do precisely that.”
