Home News First fully electric bus line launched in Paris
The first 100% electric bus line has been recently launched in Paris by transport operators Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP) and Syndicat des transports d'Île-de-France (STIF).
By the end of the year, a total of 23 fully electric buses will run on line 341 which links Charles de Gaulle train station to Etoile/ Porte de Clignancourt. The 12-metre long buses are manufactured by Bolloré.
The introduction of fully electric buses marks the first step of RATP’s long-term plan which aims at having, by 2025, a 100% green bus fleet (4500 vehicles) composed of 80% electric and 20% biogas-powered vehicles. Tenders for a massive deployment of electric and biogas-powered buses will be launched starting next year.
