Home News LA Metro expands its natural gas bus fleet
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) decided to purchase 295 40-foot compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, which will be fueled by renewable natural gas (RNG). The contract includes an option for the purchase of 305 additional CNG buses.
LA Metro has already the largest natural gas bus fleet in the USA and the decision to further expand this green fleet underlines the transit agency’s strong commitment to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the region. The transportation agency will have another vote on a similar purchase of CNG and other alternative fuel vehicles to upgrade the fleet next month.
