Superbus: the future of public transport

The University of Delft unveiled a 15 meters long bus prototype that can carry a 23 passengers and run up to 250 km/h.

Dubbed as the “future vision of Public Transport”, the vehicle presents significant advantages, such as:

Safety: due to obstacle detection systems (through radar equipment and a fast responding electronic guidance system), high maneuverability and formidable breaking power.
Flexibility : Superbus enjoys flexiblerouting, since routes are customised based on the preferred starts and destinations of the passengers. Running also on standard roads, it can fit seamlessly into the existing infrastructure.
Sustainability: electrically-powered, rechargeable batteries. Thanks to its lightweight and highly streamlined construction, Superbus also has low energy consumption.
User-friendliness: The bus has two different interior cabins, designed for people travelling alone or in groups.
Comfort: embarking onboard Superbus should be comparable to travelling with a luxurious sedan. This sensational experience will be realized through high speed, ergonomic interior design and personal multimedia equipment for each individual passenger.
