Home News Self-driving bus fleet to be operational in Dubai by 2019
An automated bus networking system will start running in Dubai by 2019. The 2.5 km-long driverless bus network will link Bluewaters Island to Dubai’s metro. The system will feature 25 automated vehicles being able to carry 24 passengers each. Initially, the capacity will be of 3,750 people per hour per direction and the journey will take less than five minutes. The technology will be developed by the Dutch company 2getthere which is specialised in automated transit applications.
This fits perfectly in Dubai's plan to have 25 per cent of all trips in the city provided by automated systems by 2035.
