Coach crew professionalism saves lives
Bulgarian coach crew from the BIOMET Company, Kremena Todorava, Dobrin Ivanov and Krum Krumov, received the IRU Grand Prix d’Honneur, an international award, recognising their outstanding act of courage, bravery, and professionalism that saved the lives of 37 passengers onboard when an armed man hijacked their bus.

Santa bus campaign: getting food & money to those in need
From 6 -10 December, the Santa Bus campaign collected food and monetary donations with collection bins on every bus and various bins in the Thunder Bay district of Canada. Santa Bus co-organisers, the Thunder Bay Transit and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 966, managed to collect 1,290 pounds (585 kg) of food for the local charity, while fares and donations totalled 2,000 Canadian Dollars.

Christmas-themed buses raise money for Australian children’s hospital
An Australian bus company, the Four Hills Buses, has decided to decorate their buses in five different Christmas themes to raise money for a local children’s hospital. The initiative that started in 2007 managed to raise more than 8,300 Australian Dollars just last year.

London Hydrogen bus launched in December, just in time for a Smart Christmas shopping!

Insurance companies offer reduced prices for the car-insurance of annual collective/public transport subscribers.For example: Veolia Transport, together with GMF Assurances, work together in such a partnership agreement and offer for the principal car driver a 10% reduced annual insurance rate, if he/she has an annual public transport subscription.
